Able to work independently?
I am Mr. / Girgis H. H. A. / Egypt.
Sure, I am able to work independently as a teacher of English,
supervisor of English or superintendent of English at high schools
and colleges (For Adults) in my country, Egypt.
As
a teacher, I use many strategies to interact with my students. I
teach
whole class lessons, lead small group instruction, or engage
in
individual conferences with specific students. Small group and
individual sessions work best when i know the rest of my class has
the
ability to work independently, without constant supervision.
Teaching
independent learning strategies will help my students build
the skills
necessary to complete their work, manage their time, and
respond to
challenges with minimal direction. It also allows me the
freedom to
differentiate my approach to teaching English for adults
in my country, Egypt.
I designed my global education site:
http://www.bchmsg.yolasite.com/
and my education blog:

What does it mean to be independent?
It means:
- Becoming self-aware, self-monitoring and self-correcting;
- Knowing what you need to do;
- Taking the initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do;
- Doing what is asked to the best of your ability, without the need for external prodding, and working until the job is completed;
- Learning to work at a pace that you can sustain;
- Taking ownership of your mistakes without looking for excuses; and
- Refusing to let self-doubt or negative emotions due to negative past experiences take you off course.
Key to being independent is your:
What is working independently?
Working
independently is the ability to work self-sufficiently on
assigned
tasks. You might receive direction on projects from a
supervisor or
manager, but they can then trust you to accomplish
tasks with little to
no supervision. Working independently can
involve a sense of
responsibility and self-reliance as you work
to finish projects and
assignments.
There
are many jobs that might suit someone who enjoys working
independently,
including consulting, education or roles in the
entertainment industry.
Consultants often own their own business
and can make their own
schedule. They also can work on projects of
their choosing separately
from a team. Educators often make their
own lesson plans and work
independently in the classroom.
Roles in the entertainment industry
might include musicians,
artists or producers. Some of these roles might
operate on a
freelance basis, and some might work independently while
performing on a touring schedule.
Advantages of working alone:
1. Reduces conflict
Working in a team can be challenging, since others have distinct work
habits, opinions and ideas for how to do things. Some teams might
have an imbalance of work ethic, with some members doing more
work than others.
2. Increases your efficiency
When you work alone, you may find it easier to concentrate and
work much faster. You can also have more clarity in the task you
are working on since you won't have to incorporate others' input.
3. Provides you with an enjoyable challenge
Working independently may be challenging but enjoyable.
Having no team members to rely on can be a test in your
confidence and accuracy as you develop your own ideas.
4. Puts you in charge
Another benefit of working independently is the opportunity to be your
own manager. Although some people prefer to follow orders from their
superiors, others prefer a more flexible work style that puts them in
charge
5- Allows you to take full credit
If you are a competitive type of person, working alone might be more
suitable for you. When working independently, you can take full credit
for any projects or tasks you are working on.
6. Increases job satisfaction
When you work independently, you may find more job satisfaction
because you're responsible for planning your tasks and you get the
credit for your success.
7. Allows you to work at your own pace
Working alone allows you to plan your workday on your own and
stick to the flow that's convenient for you.
8. Eliminates politics
Working alone allows you to focus on what you love to do instead of
how to get the tasks done while interacting with a wide range of
personalities.
9. Gives you more control of your time
Working independently means that you usually have control over
your schedule. You can put your work tasks in the most efficient
order and fit them around your non-work commitments, such as
buying essentials from the store, exercising and completing
family obligations.
10. Creates a more relaxed environment
Working alone can mean that you can perform your task in a less
restrictive and formal environment, especially if you work from home.
11. Removes potential sources of stress
If you work alone, there's no supervisor or manager nearby monitoring
your work. Solo working can remove potential sources of stress and
make for a more productive and relaxed environment.
12. Demonstrates that you're a good self-manager
Being able to work alone is a soft skill that many companies look for
in a job candidate. This means that whether you are working remotely
or in a regular office space, you can work on your own at different
times.
13. Makes you more creative
It's common for creative individuals to choose to work independently
when they are thinking of new ideas, primarily because it's usually
easier to innovate without the influence of other people. Working in
a team can be a fun and stimulating process, but trying to develop
creative ideas by yourself can be more rewarding.
14. Boosts your self-esteem and self-confidence
A boost in self-confidence means that you trust yourself to be
competent in the situations you encounter, and an increase in
self-esteem can give you a positive outlook on yourself.
15. Enhances your reputation
When you prove that you can work independently, other people
may view you positively as a contributor to the team.
16. Increases self-reliance
If you can meet your own needs, you don't have to depend on others
for help, which can reduce your colleagues' workload and increase
productivity.
17. Promotes your well-being
If you work independently in the comfort of your home, you don't
have to worry about commuting or spending long hours away from
your friends or family. This can help you reduce stress and improve
your work-life balance
I am highly adaptable to change. During my internship, the activity-
based learning method was introduced in place of the GTM method of
teaching. Other members of the staff were unhappy about it.
What made myself unique is that I made the decision to learn and
use the new active learning method, passed the training unit, taught
myself the new system, uploaded it to my education site and I was
then, able to train others how to use it perfectly.
In Egypt, I practice the leading skills of:
1-Observing, leading and following up independent learning, active
learning , learning through discovery and projects during my practical
visits to 23 British schools and colleges at Norwich, Norfolk, England,
UK under the supervision of great East Anglia University professors.
2-Collaborating in lectures, debates, conferences, lessons plans,
curriculum design and analysis, using various teaching strategies,
identifying learners' needs, model lessons presentation and workshops
3- Initiating and innovating, to energize and inspire, as well as deliver.
I am a leader, influencer and a decision maker.

There are many traits that can be useful when working independently.
Dear leaders all over the world, here are some of
these traits include:

Mindfulness can help you be aware of your mental state and your
environment, which can help you stay on task. For instance,
practicing
mindfulness can alert you to feeling distracted by noises
around you and
help you redirect your focus or change your
surroundings.
Determination:
Working independently means you are in charge of setting your own
work
pace and timing for assignments. Determination to finish can
help you
stay in line with project time constraints so you continue to
meet your
employer's expectations even without their oversight.
Ambitiousness:
Being ambitious means you're driven to succeed. If
you're working
independently, ambition can ensure that you perform
in your job role and
look for additional tasks so you can advance in
your career.
